Better Parkour

Hogwarts Legacy Mods |

Better Parkour

Faster and more responsive parkour. Automatic stepping over, vaults and climbing now works for every height and activates on wider angles. Increased the stepping over heights and vault heights which results in faster transitioning that replaces the slower animations/vaults/ledge climbing at certain heights.

28 March 2023 Update
The mod doesn’t have two modes anymore. Instead, you toggle BetterParkour on and off, to toggle between the modded game (faster animations, wider angles etc.) and the vanilla game (easier to execute the one handed vault). You can also toggle AlwaysAutomaticVaults on and off, since someone expressed their need to be able to control when to vault/climb etc.

Made them into two separate toggles for better customization, instead of limiting users into two modes.

Also updated the description explaining what BetterParkour and AlwaysAutomaticVaults do in the updated version, along with some other stuff.

29 March 2023 Update
Can now toggle between BetterParkour’s stepping over heights and LessSteppingOver heights. Updated the description explaining what LessSteppingOver does. Only affects BetterParkour’s values, since toggling BetterParkour off reverts everything to vanilla.

BetterParkour
Automatic stepping over, vaults and climbing activates on wider angles. Increased the stepping over heights and vaults heights which results in faster transitioning that replaces the slower animations/vaults/ledge climbing at certain heights.

Faster and more responsive movement. A cool looking one handed vault, is bunched together with some of the slower animations, so you can’t execute it consistently like in the vanilla game, but you can now easily toggle between vanilla and modded to execute some cool parkour runs!

AlwaysAutomaticVaults
Automatic stepping over, vaults and climbing now works for every height instead of working for only really short obstacles. Can use it with BetterParkour toggled off as well.

LessSteppingOver
Reduces the stepping over heights, since some people found it weird that you’re able to step over some bigger obstacles. Only affects BetterParkour’s values, since toggling BetterParkour off reverts everything to vanilla.

Toggle BetterParkour on and off with ALT+X (can be changed). Toggle AlwaysAutomaticVaults on and off with ALT+C (can be changed). Toggle between LessSteppingOver heights and BetterParkour stepping over heights with ALT+B (can be changed). By default the mod launches with BetterParkour enabled, AlwaysAutomaticVaults enabled and LessSteppingOver disabled, so it is still working like its initial release.

Comparison with vanilla game
In the vanilla game the player will stop and won’t climb over the obstacle unless you press the Jump button.

With BetterParkour and AlwaysAutomaticVaults enabled the player will automatically step over the obstacle.

In the vanilla game the player will stop and won’t climb over the ledge unless you press the Jump button.
