Hogwarts Economy
Economy overhaul making knuts feel more valuable and worth your time to find and collect.
Recommended on a new save, aiming to fix the economy by reducing some OP sources of gold and increasing prices of permanent recipes, broom upgrades, etc. Also adds 2-3x more merchandise to vendors to provide increased spending opportunities. Vastly increases RoR build requirements making moonstone desirable. Overall, obtaining items should feel like more of an accomplishment, your monetary decisions more impactful, and your efforts exploring and defeating enemies more worthwhile.
An ideal version of this mod would allow you to sell potions, ingredients, beast byproduts, moonstone, and so-on but this would require script modifications that are above my head currently. If another modder figures it out, feel free to use this mod as a base.
Note on compatibility: if you run other mods which edit PhoenixShipData.sqlite you will need to merge them together using Hogwarts Mod Merger follow the instructions there.
Install the .pak to SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks\mods or equivalent
Update Feb. 18 2023 added optional pak which merges all of my gameplay tweaks, I’m currently using it on a new save for testing/balancing and it seems pretty good. Merges economy/basic cast/difficulty/revelio incendio buffs all in one.
Gold found in disillusionment chests reduced from 500 to 200
Sell price of non-legendary gear items reduced by 33%
Sell price for beasts reduced from 120 to 100
Price of permanent recipies, seeds, etc. increased by 25%
Price of brooms increased by ~13%
Price of broom upgrades increased by 50%
Transfiguration cost increased ~1000% (10x)
Rebalanced prices of some consumables to be more useable
Number of goods for sale at all vendors increased 2-3x
Selling price added for all potions, ingredients, beast byproducts, moonstone (not functioning)
